1. Island Line Rail Trail

A local favorite, the Island Line Rail Trail stretches across the Champlain Islands, offering unparalleled views of both the lake and the colorful fall trees. Whether you’re biking or walking, this scenic route takes you across old rail lines, over causeways, and through stunning foliage. The way the fiery reds and oranges reflect off the calm waters of Lake Champlain makes this a truly unique experience!

2. Mount Philo State Park

Just a short drive from North Hero House, Mount Philo is one of Vermont’s most iconic foliage destinations. At 968 feet, the summit offers sweeping views of the Champlain Valley, with the Adirondacks as a backdrop. Hike to the top or take a more leisurely route via car; either way, you'll be greeted with jaw-dropping views of rolling hills blanketed in fall colors.
